Message about the upcoming CVGRC Specialty June 20th – 22nd

Our Specialty show is only a few short months away!  We are hoping to see all of our members at the show, whether you are coming to show or coming to watch – our dogs love an audience!!  The fun starts on Wed nite with our puppy match. Come see our stars of the future having a good time! On Thursday and Friday there will be two shows each day;  one put on by our club and one put on by the Pittsburgh club. You can see the conformation dogs do their thing in the breed ring, or come watch our obedience and rally athletes amaze.

We usually get a large amount of our trophy money from our heart clinic;  however, due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to hold it this year.  This is where our club members come in. We are looking for donors for our trophies. You won’t get your name in lights but you can get your name in the catalog if you let me know by April 25th!

Some of the trophies still available are BOS -$30, Select Dog – 20, AOM – $15, WD -$20, Res WD & WB – $10,  all classes are $7 and almost all are available. For obedience we have HIT $30, High Combined – $30 , and all classes $7.  We also have High Scoring in Rally $25 and all Rally classes $7.00. All Junior classes are also available with Best Jr – $25 and all jr classes $10.  Or you can contribute any amount to the General Trophy Fund.

We thank you in advance for any contribution!  If you are interested in sponsoring a trophy but have questions, please don’t hesitate to call me 440-235-3686, or email  Please email me and let me know what trophy you want to sponsor so I can reserve for you. Again thank you for your donation!

What is the worst part of spring? The thawing of winter’s waste! Recently I met a local company that takes the hassle out of cleaning up after your pets. -Robin Schell

We always have things going on in the spring/summer from cookouts to bonfires or just cutting the grass and it’s never fun reminding folks to “Watch where you walk” or “Check your shoes”. I recently seen a post of Facebook from the “Poo Pros” a local company that offers dog waste removal/yard clean up. I was intrigued, so I sent a message. Immediately, Tony replied and ask me a few questions about the number of dogs and the size of my yard. Getting to know more about his business and how it began,I could hear the passion in his voice for animals and customer service. I’ve been so pleased with their service I had to share.  Here are some things they offer:

Pet waste pick-up and haul away from your property and Pressurized Aqua spray to remove any residual waste left behind.

Detailed service report card with every visit with vet samples at no charge upon request.

Dog treats for your pups

30-minute advance arrival notice via call or text

Veterinarian grade sanitizer used on all of our tools after EVERY visit

Company vehicle with company employees

A company who cares. We’re dedicated to animals and our customers.

Each Friday I get a text from Fred one of their employees letting me know he will be there in about 30 minutes.

Portage County Horse bowl Team

Recently the Portage County 4-h Team took 1st place in the State of Ohio’s 4-H Horse Bowl competition.

We received a thank you card for our donation that was given to help support them.

Several of those who volunteered on your 2018 membership renewal have spoken to me about what you might like to do at this years match, but I am hoping to hear from a few  more of you.

2) Help with setup and teardown of the rings (easy stuff)

3) someone to agree to be our phone contact on that day, in case folks need  to “dial a friend” to find our new spot.

We are going to have a great time!

Rochelle Andonian will judge

Barb Vick will be presenting a program on “getting Started in breeding”

Amy Gutmann will be testing dogs for CGC and Star puppy certification
