Club Objectives:       The objectives of the club shall be: 1) to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Golden Retrievers and to do all possible to bring the natural abilities to perfection. 2) to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which the Golden Retriever shall be judged. 3) to do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, field trials, obedience trials, and agility trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
Club Membership Policy:       The Cuyahoga Valley Golden Retriever Club is open to all persons with a sincere interest in promoting the Golden Retriever breed. This includes the responsible breeder of hereditary sound dogs with the correct Golden Retriever instincts, temperament, and overall balance of the Golden Retriever as stated in the official GRCA Golden Retriever Standard. The club meets on a monthly basis for Golden Retriever-related events. These activities include AKC sanctioned matches, specialties, working certificates, hunting tests, field training sessions, agility, and conformation shows. Most important is that the club is a social organization. ACTIVE MEMBERS are needed to help with all phases of interest.
