2017 Spirit of Giving
Wags4Warriors (2nd quarter)
The Mission of WAGS 4 WARRIORS is to unite veterans whom upon returning home from war suffer with PTSD or TBI with an appropriate dog, and to provide all of the training, equipment and support for the dog to become the veterans service dog at NO COST to the veteran. The ultimate goal is for the service dog to take away the struggle the veterans face everyday.
CVGRC members, and friends, really came out and showed their red, white and blue! We were able to raise over $1,000.00 for this group. Thanks everyone for your support! Pictured are some of the nice things we were able to raffle with everyone’s support.
OSAR – Ohio Search and Recovery (3rd quarter, 2017)
As the Ohio Search and Rescue Association our mission is to provide a consistent, unified, expert voice on behalf of the Ohio search and rescue community, and to facilitate the development and maintenance of an effective search and rescue system in Ohio.
CCI- Companions for Independence (4th quarter, 2017)
Founded in 1975, Canine Companions for Independence® is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.
The assistance dogs we breed, raise and train aren’t just the ears, hands and legs of their human partners. They’re also goodwill ambassadors and often, their best friends. They open up new opportunities and new possibilities, and spread incredible joy. We unite people with dogs in a powerful program that leads to greater independence and confidence.
Lake County Humane Society (1st Quarter- 2017)
GRIN – 4th quarter 2016
Our first SOG (Spirit of Giving) event was held at the home of Pat and Cheri Goggin.
Members enjoyed the company of others while enjoying some tasty refreshments and we were able to
make 40 durable dog tugs to donate to GRIN’s wish list!
Then in Dec., we gathered at the Mucky Duck (cute spot!) for refreshments and to paint.
Part of the proceeds from this event also went to support the work of GRIN (Golden Retrievers in Need).
